3 Idiots

"FOLLOWING YOUR PASSIONS AND INTERESTS, AND NOT CONFORMING TO RIGID ATTITUDES, CAN HELP YOU ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE AND SUCCESS."
Synopsis
Ten years earlier, Farhan, Raju, and Ranchodas "Rancho" Chanchad were students at Imperial College of Engineering (ICE). Farhan, passionate about photography, was pressured by his father to study engineering. Raju, from a poor family, relied on academics for a better future. Rancho, an unconventional genius, studied for the joy of learning and often clashed with the strict dean, Virus. He also embarrassed their competitive classmate, Chatur, by altering a memorized speech, leading to a 10-year challenge to see who succeeds in life.
Rancho fell in love with Virus’s daughter, Pia, and proved that her fiancé, Suhas, only valued wealth. He also saved Raju’s father’s life by rushing him to the hospital. Despite Rancho’s influence, Farhan and Raju ranked lowest in their class, while Rancho topped it. When they drunkenly broke into Virus's house, Raju was caught and later attempted suicide rather than betray his friends. After recovering, he stood firm in a crucial job interview, securing a position, while Farhan pursued photography against his father’s wishes. Furious, Virus made their final exam extremely difficult. However, after Rancho helped deliver Mona's baby using an improvised inverter, Virus relented and gifted Rancho his prized astronaut pen.
In the present, Farhan and Raju track Rancho to Shimla, only to find an imposter who reveals that Rancho was an orphan who studied in his master’s place. They rush to Ladakh, where they find their friend—now a renowned scientist, Phunsukh Wangdu, with 400 patents. Chatur, realizing his business deal depends on Rancho, panics and begs for a partnership, while Rancho reunites with his friends and Pia, who leaves Suhas for him.
